StepUp! and SAALT

Youth Pursuits’ Leadership Program (StepUp! for middle school students and SAALT for high school students) provides opportunity for students to live out their faith through teaching, mentoring, and leadership. Students will be empowered and equipped to assist Salem staff and interns with Youth Pursuits Camps throughout the summer.

The StepUp! and SAALT program begins with a two-day training (May 3 and 10, 5:30–7:00 p.m.) for students to receive instruction in large and small group teaching, leadership, and team building. Students will be equipped to assist with any YP camp of their choice offered during the summer.

Prior to registering for the StepUp! and SAALT program, interested students should view the YP camp descriptions on KidCheck (or below) to see which YP camp(s) they wish to assist at (one week minimum commitment). All interested students should complete and submit a StepUp! and SAALT application form upon registering (see KidCheck attachment for application). The cost for the entire StepUp! and SAALT program (training + assisting weeks) is only $50—and, as a reward for completing this program, StepUp! and SAALT students may participate in two reward days.
